Neil's Piano Studio
With 4+ years of experience teaching, I provide piano lessons to kids and adults of all ages and skill levels in West Edmonton.I am currently completing a bachelor's in piano performance at the University of Alberta. Throughout my education, I studied under many accomplished pianists, played collaboratively with other musicians, and performed countless times.
My Approach
I am committed to providing all my students with effective musical foundations and practice habits grounded in science. Playing a musical instrument is easily one of the most cognitively demanding tasks that people regularly perform. Developing a cognitive model for musical performance and practice allows us to optimize our learning—something every musician should do before spending hundreds, if not thousands of hours at the instrument.Whether you are interested in learning Liszt and Rachmaninoff with ease, playing music from Interstellar, improvising and composing your own music, or enriching your child's development, I will equip you with the tools to achieve these goals. My lessons focus on building strong musical foundations and effective learning strategies based on modern science, and the cultivation of musical intuition and expressivity using concrete principles.
